Doug is COO of NgEK.
Doug brings 25 years of experience in developing and executing business and marketing plans with a focus toward relationships that result in long-term commercial growth. He is an innovative, aggressive, and analytical executive with proven ability to achieve company growth through strategic thinking, product definition, and strong business acumen. Doug is quick to master and understand business situations across a wide spectrum of issues and assist in building the processes necessary for success.
Prior to NgEK Doug served as President and CEO of CAD Centric Systems, a software developer of interoperable solutions used in CAD/CAM/CAE. During his tenure at CAD Centric, Dennis led the company producing 10 years of consistent growth and profitability.
Doug has also consulted in advisory and management capacities to a number of technology ventures and start-ups. He considers himself a serial entrepreneur and can frequently be found writing or pouring over business plans. He has been involved in several start-ups including Mobile Feast, Net Shorts, D2 Commerce, Knowtel, and Nextumi. At Nextumi, he served as COO and was involved in securing $1million in first stage funding for the company.
Prior to CAD Centric, he was the Regional Director for a Silicon Valley start-up, CAD LAB. In his role at CADLab, he was responsible for sales, marketing, and business development for a 12 state region.
Prior to his position with CADLab, he spent 5 years at Silicon Graphics where he was Director Application Market Development. During his tenure at SGI, he was instrumental in architecting the company's strategy for the manufacturing market - "Silicon Works". In this role, he was responsible for managing the marketing efforts of the company in the manufacturing market amounting to over $400 million in annual sales to SGI. In addition, he evangelized advanced technology and its application to manufacturing problems.
Mr. Dennis has an extensive background in sales, marketing, and manufacturing. His vision for electronic commerce and web-deployed applications dates back to early uses of the web. He has published articles on electronic commerce and manufacturing information deployment over the web. He holds patents for 3D based view and markup technology that are currently being deployed in web browsers. Mr. Dennis graduated with a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Summa Cum Laude, from the University of Evansville in Indiana and has completed work toward an MBA.
In his spare time, Doug is active in community affairs. He serves on the Entrepreneurship Advisory Council at the University of Evansville, has been involved in a number of community action committees, and served in an advisory capacity to the Milford Board of Education for several of its financing campaigns.
